Houma Elks Lodge #1193
7883 Main Street • Houma, Louisiana
Join us for an unforgettable evening as we conclude the Houma Elks Heritage Celebration Week with The Legacy Gala, a celebration of our Lodge's recent listing on the National Register of Historic Places and the generations of members whose service helped shape both our Lodge and our community.
Inspired by the elegance of the 1910s and 1920s South Louisiana Oil Boom Era, this special evening will transport guests to a time when Houma was growing into a thriving center of commerce, industry, and community life.
Guests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the era by wearing 1910s or 1920s-inspired attire. Think about The Great Gatsby. Vintage-inspired dresses, suits, hats, suspenders, pearls, and other period fashions are welcome, though period dress is encouraged rather than required.
Historical storytelling celebrating the history of the Houma Elks Lodge and the people who built it
Stories and reflections on Houma's early growth and Oil Boom Era
Live music throughout the evening
Unveiling of the restored historic memorial plaques
Silent auction and/or raffle featuring unique items and experiences
Fellowship with members, friends, and supporters of the Lodge
Guests will enjoy a delicious seated dinner featuring: Glazed Pork Medallions, Garlic Potatoes, Green Beans, Fresh Garden Salad, Deviled Eggs, and Dessert
Our bar will feature classic cocktails popular during the early twentieth century, including favorites such as the Beez Knees and Old Fashioned, crafted using spirits from Bayou Terrebonne Distillers.
The Legacy Gala is more than a celebration—it is an opportunity to honor the men and women whose dedication sustained the Houma Elks Lodge for more than a century. As we celebrate our past, we also look forward to preserving this historic landmark and its stories for future generations.
We invite you to be part of this historic evening and help us celebrate the legacy that continues to unite our Lodge and our community.
