Hoop Shoot

The Elks nationwide sanctioned program gives youngsters an opportunity for spirited competition, build relationships with their peers, and travel statewide, regionally, and nationally at minimal expense to their parents. At the State, Regional and National levels, the finalists and their parents attend the competition as guests of the Elks.

The Elks Hoop Shoot Program is open to all boys and girls, ages eight through thirteen. All boys and girls within the jurisdiction of Houma Elks Lodge 1193 are invited to participate in the Houma Elks Hoop Shoot Contest.

The Hoop Shoot contest is arranged in two divisions, one for boys and one for girls in age categories 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13. Contestant age groups are determined by their ages on April 1st. Participants who shoot in the wrong age category will be disqualified. Please bring a copy of the child's birth certificate.

The six Lodge champions, one boy and one girl in each age group, will advance to the State contest. The six finalists in the State contest will advance to the Regional contest. The regional contest will determine the contestants that will compete at the national finals.

There is no charge to enter the Elks Free Throw Contest. You don't even have to be on a team to participate.
